Here’s your chance to join our award-winning agency, ICF Next. We’re changemakers, a community of mission driven creatives, communicators, strategists, and technologists. We are seeking an experienced, motivated Communications Specialist, you will: 

 

  • On a multi-disciplinary team of communications professionals, support a high-profile federal public awareness campaign.
  • Serve as a point of contact for the client for your tasks and help support overall program delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with the program manager, designers, writers, editors, subject matter experts, and multicultural communications specialists to support the coordination, development, and delivery of high-quality campaign materials that align with the client’s expectations.
  • Advise on strategic planning for external outreach and messaging efforts, ensuring alignment with agency and department-level priorities. 
  • Support coordination of external and internal engagement and communications, training, and events with federal agencies and critical partners, including NGOs, corporations, multilateral entities, other law enforcement agencies, and other interested parties. 
  • Serve as a liaison between the program manager and ICF’s internal surge support services (e.g. creative, training, instructional design) to identify and meet needs for specialized services.
  • Identify emerging industry, legislative, and news trends which may impact our client agency and drive communications planning and response on a variety of priorities. 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a relevant field. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. 
  • 3+ years of experience in communications roles
  • U.S. Citizenship required (required by federal government for the position) 

 

Professional Skills: 

  • Demonstrated experience in fast-paced dynamic environment with the ability to be a hands-on, trusted problem solver.   
  • Demonstrated experience engaging senior government officials and executives. 
  • Superior verbal, written, organizational, and time management skills, as well as attention to detail. 
  • Ability to think creatively and provide unique solutions and rationale for solutions to clients’ communications challenges/problems. 
  • Ability to quickly understand problems, synthesize large amounts of information, and provide succinct recommendations that tie back to overall account communication strategies and tactics. 
  • Team player mindset with superior interpersonal skills and professionalism.
  • Ability to think creatively and consistently generate fresh ideas to reach new audiences and increase awareness for the campaign.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience in strategic communications and campaign support for a federal agency.
  • Experience with orchestrating the development of marketing collateral (print and online) and marketing channels (e.g. e-mail, social, and events)
  • Experience working collaboratively with a creative department to conceive, create, and deliver outstanding creative communications products
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop effective marketing campaigns with measurable results.  
  • Job Location: Washington, DC metro area. Role will be required to meet with client on-site in DC, as requested.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$73,722.00 - $125,327.00
