A sound benefits package is a plus but only if our clients and their employees know and understand what’s available to them. OneDigital’s Communications Team provides engaging year-round communications to help our clients employees not only understand their benefits but also appreciate them. 

 

The Benefits Communication Specialist, based out of Richmond, VA or North Bethesda supports the DMV Communications Department in a shared service capacity. The Communications Specialist is responsible for assisting the Communications team with day-to-day needs and supporting the development and execution of effective communication strategies by creating educational materials, presentations, campaigns etc. to educate our clients’ employees on their benefit plans. The specialist will also educate and train internal teams throughout the DMV region about our services and products. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): 

 

  • Supports the DMV Communications Team as they create and implement creative communications tools for client open enrollment and new hire education 

  • Assist Director of Communications and Communications Manager with day-to-day projects 

  • Assists team with expanding library of universal templates and tools accessible to all account teams and clients 

  • Manages DMV Communications intranet as well as other relevant areas 

  • Reviews, responds, and maintains list of all requests submitted to the DMV Communications team 

  • Build relationships with different teams and offices to address their needs and advise action 

  • Educates and trains internal team members about new tools and services  

  • Coordinates printing and mailing requests between client/account team and printing vendor 

  • Maintains relationships with new and existing vendor partners 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements: 

 

  • Strong attention to detail; 

  • Creative mindset; 

  • Technology savvy; 

  • High energy, enthusiastic individual; 

  • Must be self-motivated, flexible and disciplined; 

  • Ability to work independently as well as in team environment; 

  • Ability to multi-task under pressure and tight deadlines 

  • Excellent communication skills; 

  • Strong organizational skills; 

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced production environment; 

Education, Training and Experience: 

 

  • Proficient in Canva; 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, and 2-5 years of professional experience, communications, PR, or related field; 

  • Proven track record in customer service; 

  • Spanish speaking capabilities, preferred but not required 

  • Experience with Employee Benefits, preferred but not required 

Other:

  • Candidates will report to the Richmond office if they are located near Richmond, or to the North Bethesda office if they are based in the DC area.

 

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
