Way back in 2012, we created a brand new outdoor cooking category with our first portable wood-fired pizza oven. Now, the Ooni lineup includes gas and multi-fuel pizza ovens, all of which bake amazing Neapolitan pizza in just 60 seconds. Yum.
We're looking for someone to join our Communications team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based out of our office in Edinburgh Park as our Communications Manager. The role will involve collaboration with our Senior Marketing Manager and Global PR Lead, focusing on our Europe and RoW regions.
Ooni takes a hybrid work approach, working at our office at Edinburgh Park for a minimum of three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday).
What you'll do:

  • Implementing and delivering the agreed Global Communications strategy in each market
  • Managing external PR agencies in the UK, Germany, France, Nordics and Australia (working closely with local Ooni Marketing Managers in each region)
  • Managing regional always-on press offices, proactive and reactive
  • Comms lead on NPD Go-To-Market in each region - launch preparation, agency briefings and planning, event planning, press office management, product sampling and seeding, sustained communications phases
  • Supporting on press event execution on the ground
  • Day-to-day agency liaison and regular WIP meeting management (agendas, notes, actions)
  • Feeding into press idea generation with agencies and Marketing team
  • Alongside our Global PR lead, Director of Brand Marketing and Executive team, you'll be involved in handling any Crisis Communications and Corporate Communications activity
  • Managing the agency-populated PR log for relevant regions and internal monthly reporting for Exec - ongoing KPI setting and benchmarking
  • Drafting and reviewing press materials, supplying assets to agencies


What you'll need to succeed:

  • 5+ years of PR agency experience, either in-house or agency-side
  • Solid understanding of European press landscape and media ways of working (bonus points for additional language skills here, but business is conducted with agencies in English)
  • Comfortable constructively challenging both internally and externally, always striving to improve ways of working and processes
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Brilliant at managing relationships to guide multiple stakeholders through complex projects - external agencies, internal teams and adept at handling relationships with Exec team
  • Able to multi-task daily and manage multiple teams, juggling deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to lead PR agencies and to set and achieve ambitious KPI goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Product Company/appliance experience a bonus
  • Love of pizza and generally being a super nice person and team player are a must

Hot and fast is how you cook truly great pizza, and- all of our models get hot as hell (that’s 932°F/500°C last time we checked) and cook incredible pizza in only 60 seconds. Before Ooni, if you wanted pizza that good, you had to go to a restaurant or spend thousands on a traditional pizza oven. Not anymore, friends.

Our team works on a hybrid schedule, typically working from the office Tuesdays and Wednesdays; however, we are flexible.
