The Ascensus External Communications Team is responsible for increasing the relevance and shape perception of Ascensus as the industry leader in tax advantaged savings, record keeping and plan administration, and innovator in technology and user and mobile experience.

The Communications Coordinator will be a member of the External Communications team and support the day-to-day operations of Ascensus' external communications, ensuring that all messaging is consistent, engaging, and aligned with the brand's voice. This role offers exposure to various facets of marketing and communications, including media relations, social media, advertising, and branding. 

The ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker capable of managing multiple projects independently and proactively. Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for writing engaging content are essential. The coordinator will also contribute to developing visual elements and metrics that support communication strategies. 

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit corporate communications materials, including press releases, social media posts, and blog articles. 
  • Monitor media coverage, track results, and measure program effectiveness. 
  • Research industry trends and identify opportunities for proactive communication. 
  • Analyze data to measure campaign performance and recommend areas for improvement. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms. 
  • Provide administrative support, including media monitoring, reporting, and budget management. 
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all tasks, exercising sound judgment and discretion. 
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Prior experience in public relations or related fields is a plus. 
  • Ability to craft compelling storylines, often from data-driven topics, for use across traditional, digital, and social media channels. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency with digital platforms, analytics tools, and/or content management systems is preferred. 
  • An understanding of a regulated industry; financial services experience a plus
