This role will play a key role within Vanguard’s Corporate Communications team in Europe. The team is responsible for raising the firm’s awareness and managing its reputation. The person will lead messaging in the U.K. and Europe, responding to market events, industry/public policy developments, and reputation issues. They’ll work closely with key business stakeholders and public relations. The corporate communications team consists of internal communications, public relations, and strategic communications. It serves key internal stakeholders across the U.K., Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Spain.

Core Responsibilities
- Lead on establishing bank of strategic communications messaging for Europe based on distribution team needs and aligned with business priorities. Partner closely with distribution teams on this.
- Prepare strategic communications messaging in response to market events, industry/public policy developments and reputation issues, working closely with key business stakeholders and PR.
- Craft campaign narrative for key Europe strategic themes including Savers to Investors, Value of Advice and Retirement. Partner with Marketing/PR/GR to drive themes externally.
- Prepare necessary crisis communications as situations arise and take ownership for crisis communications playbooks.
- Manage internal communications for Vanguard Europe and partner closely with Strategic Services, HR and other business units to land crew messaging. Take a lead role in core Internal Comms opportunities such as 50th Anniversary celebrations. Support CRGs on internal comms messaging as necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum seven years related work experience, three years Communications experience preferred.
- Financial Services/Investment services background preferred
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
