Join the Mizuho team as a Commercial Lending Principal Engineer!
In this role you will envision, document, and champion target state and transitional architectures for Loan IQ Data Warehousing solution, Integration with Accounting and Risk systems, Loan IQ Wires, ACH and DDA Payments Platform, Loan IQ Statements & Notices infrastructure and other key components of strategic Commercial Lending architecture. You will have expertise in architecting and designing solutions that promote reusability, scalability, efficiency, and resiliency and possess strong communication skills to articulate the proposed solutions with both technical and business partners.
Responsibilities:
- Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence lending applications and tools, network, information security, databases, web technologies for Commercial Lending ecosystem
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on implementing Loan IQ data warehousing and other innovative and significant business solutions
- Maintain knowledge of Loan industry, vendors best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
- Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across Mizuho and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas of the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
- Develop technical standards, guidelines, and reference architectures based on industry trends and best practices including microservices and Loan IQ database optimization
- Documenting architectural standards, best practices, and mentoring application teams on developing highly distributed, resilient, and responsive applications
- Translates business requirements into well-architected recommendations supporting working foundational platform components thus ensuring functional and non-functional aspects are met
- Document Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery capabilities for Loan IQ and related applications
- Promote Loosely coupled, event-driven architectures working within an agile team
- Conducting regular evaluations of the Lending system architecture and collaborating with APMO teams to improve the designs
- Work with engineers to build, test, and present proofs of concept to demonstrate software architectures and patterns as well as help prove out the best options
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and improve Loan IQ application performance
- Resolve system and client experience impacts
- Uphold proper security standards for code development
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, computer science, statistics, engineering, physics or economics
- 10+ years of software engineering experience in a Financial Institution
- 10+ years of Loan IQ and Commercial Lending Experience
- 10+ years of applied advanced SQL skills with the ability to understand and develop complex SQL queries (Oracle DB preferred)
- 10+ years of hands-on C# .NET coding experience
- Expert functional and technical knowledge of the Loan IQ application, Code Tables, Data Model, and API Suite
- Experience in SDLC and Agile technologies such as Git, Jira, Confluence
- Experience in attending Scrum ceremonies like Daily Scrum, Sprint planning, Sprint retrospective meetings
- Demonstrated experience with Loan IQ system implementations and major upgrades
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Agency Syndications, Loan Servicing & Loan Trading business
- Demonstrated experience developing Loan IQ interfaces and reporting solutions
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues swiftly
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently with minimum supervision
- A strong desire to learn and improve skills and knowledge continuously
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in DevOps concepts, specifically in CI/CD
- Experience in creating and grooming Jira user stories as part of medium to large scale enterprise projects with multiple dependencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
- Familiarity with data conversion efforts, required testing/validations and Loan IQ Data Conversion Tool (DCT)
- Experience or knowledge of Databricks or other data warehousing technologies
- Experience in provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running in the cloud
The expected base salary ranges from $190k-$240k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
