Commercial Lead, Director for Internal Medicine Portfolio (Eliquis, Rimegepant) in IM/HOS/AV, Japan (部長)
Role Description
The IM/HOS/AV team is looking for a Commercial Director who will lead the commercial organization of Marketing and the customer-facing SME organization (HSP) for Internal Medicine Portfolio - Eliquis and Rimegepant. Both products are selected as not only major international priority worldwide, but also locally in Japan. This leadership role will drive the aspirational revenue target in 2025 OP with growth potential for the next 3 years beyond our OP25. The Director will manage an organization of ~30 people in Marketing and 2 HSP Customer Facing Teams, requiring seasoned leadership experience and people management skills. Specifically to lead customer facing team, the Director will set effective KPIs to assess HSP's performance and guide the execution in the field.
He/She will lead LOE strategy development and represent Pfizer's needs / perspectives to the co-promotion partner, in terms of resource allocation, strategic directions, customer targeting and execution prioritization etc. This role will play a critical role of negotiating and managing complexities between two different companies externally in commercial steering committee.
Rimegepant will be newly launched in Japan, which carries significant ambitions of peak revenue in 5 years of the launch. The Director will ensure launch readiness and market shaping by orchestrating cross functional teams in local and global organization. Commercial Lead will require critical and strategic thinking to drive commercial assessment and identify where to play and how to play in Japan. The Lead will develop the vision for this new launch brand with financial ambitions beyond OP25 and ensure seamless launch uptake execution.
As a member of the Japan IM/HOS/AV Leadership team, the Commercial Lead will be responsible for leading strategic brand planning, portfolio life cycle management, IM pipeline launch preparation, omnichannel strategy, and execution of operational plans to meet customer needs, optimize patient outcomes, and deliver on IM/HOS/AV commercial goals. The Commercial Lead will lead a high-performing, engaged, and innovative team, championing their continued growth and development and committing to successfully embracing Co-lab models.
1. Strategic Planning and Execution: Lead all aspects of strategic brand planning and commercial management, delivering strategies and executing tactics to achieve financial budget (revenue and IBT in Operating Plan) for the portfolio
2. Strategic Prioritization : Make trade-off decisions to prioritize focus areas and spend investment to maximize brand and launch performance
3. Organizational Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of marketing talents and customer-facing colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
3. Executional leadership of Customer Facing Team: Mobilize customer facing team (HSP) with clear KPI and execution guidance (e.g. allocation, segmentation & targeting) to ensure impactful execution in the field
4. Omni-channel strategy : Lead the development and execution of Brand Plans, including developing robust omnichannel strategies and content to meet customer needs, optimize patient outcomes and maximise brand opportunities and values.
5. Negotiation with External Partner for the best of Pfizer: Represent Pfizer's positions to external partner, negotiate and manage conflicts and complexities
6. Shaping external market landscape : Proactively shape the market for new launches and navigate the external uncertainty
7. Cross functional leadership: Partner and collaborate with relevant Global & ICO teams and locally with sales, P&HE, ISE and cross functional to deliver the outcomes
8. Financial accountability: Partner with Finance to develop business forecasts and regularly track performance against budget targets
9. Integrity: Partner with medical affairs, regulatory, legal and compliance to ensure strict adherence to promotional guidelines and 100% compliance with all law, regulation, SOP, internal or external rule/policies.

Experience
- Extensive experience developing and implementing pharmaceutical business strategy.

- Proven track record of leading projects, driving changes, and organizing teams that successfully achieve milestones and deliverables.
