Job Description
The Role
Reporting to Senior Director, Global Commercial Performance, the Commercial Excellence Manager is responsible for driving commercial and business excellence by designing, planning, and implementing key commercial processes, projects, and initiatives. This role focuses on optimizing sales performance, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring alignment with best practices to deliver top- and bottom-line growth.
Responsibilities:
- Support and drive STRAP, Growth Initiatives, and APJ AOP planning and execution.
- Identify and drive opportunities to enhance price realization, margin improvement, and forecast accuracy.
- Analyze sales performance and sales force effectiveness to identify areas for growth and improvement.
- Simplify and visualize complex data to deliver actionable insights for decision-making.
- Lead key projects, including territory alignment, target setting, and sales process optimization.
- Ensure data integrity by processing, cleansing, and validating data used for analytics and reporting.
- Enhance operational efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Global Data and Analytics team to improve analytics tools, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
- Partner with the Global Training team to assess and address regional business needs, tailoring sales training and development programs.
- Collaborate and align with APJ Leadership (GEO/Country organizations), MSD APJ/Global Leadership, and MSD APJ teams to ensure consistency in priorities and execution.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- Validated commercial experience and a successful track record of continuous improvement process and projects
- Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid foundation in financial skills used in a selling environment.
- Strong leadership, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A record of developing sales tools, education and training programs to boost sales skills, technical proficiency and overall effectiveness
- Proficient understanding of standard business practices related to sales operations processes and systems (sales cycle, sales methodology, CRM applications, reporting, forecasting, territory management and sales quotas).
- Extensive experience with software tools including, but not limited to CRM systems (salesforce.com & Microsoft Dynamics), relational databases and MS Office applications
