FUNCTION: Works proactively with loan officers to prepare independent comprehensive written presentations of the Bank's existing and prospective business lending relationships. These relationships range from small business loans originated by branches to the largest business loans, and include C&I, CRE, and community development transactions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Spreads and independently analyzes complex financial statements, cash flow ability, etc., to develop an assessment of a borrower’s credit risk. Works closely with loan officers in evaluating new credits.
- Assesses the borrower's overall financial condition; details risks and mitigants; evaluates adequacy of repayment sources, including cash flow, leverage, collateral adequacy, and guarantor strength.
- Assesses compliance with regulatory guidelines and identifies exceptions to loan policy, and recommends appropriate risk ratings.
- Approves loans within assigned lending authority and makes recommendations to management for loans that have policy exceptions and exceed lending limits.
- Seeks to find creative alternatives to meet client borrowing needs. Is familiar with alternative loan structures, and government guarantee programs that can be used to manage credit risk.
- Reviews collateral valuations and legal documentation for accuracy and compliance with Bank policies and applicable regulations
- Assists with other responsibilities such as technology initiatives, process improvement initiatives, appraisal coordination and/or review, Management Loan Committee activities, and other special projects as assigned.
- Able to underwrite both small and large credit transactions, varying analyses based on deal and credit complexity.
- Collects and maintains industry data; researches industry specific information from outside sources, online resources, industry publications, references from other banks, and credit agencies.

- Conforms to acceptable punctuality/attendance standards as expressed in the Employee Handbook
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree in Business or Accounting related field
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial credit experience. Experience level will drive Position
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with an ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
- Excellent customer service skills
- Prior success in a customer contact role desirable
- Strong communications skills, verbal and written
- Strong PC skills

- General office environment
- Moderate lifting (to 35 lbs.) required. Moderate reaching, walking, sitting and standing required
