As a Commercial Application Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing solutions that support our customer bids and product inquiries. You will provide technical and commercial expertise to the design of mechanical or electrical customer applications.
As a Commercial Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Developing proposals; may negotiate with customers; ensure deals deliver shareholder value; drive competitive pricing. May include compiling and submitting required tender documentation.
- Contributing to Prices and conditions to have a certain degree of granularity. Works based on predefined contracts price frameworks. Some latitude to deviate from prices and conditions.
- Handling standardized products with pre-defined options requiring simple client advice.
- Handling diverse clients in a region.
- Cooperating with (technical) sales support to realize sales.
- Creating and reviewing technical and commercial solutions from customer specifications to ensure compliance and exceptions are met.
- Presenting technical product line information to internal teams and external customers
- Managing and communicating customer orders from initial inquiry through to order completion
- Sharing industry and competitor knowledge to assist with potential market moves and business decision making.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be an experienced professional with technical knowledge in Control valves sizing, selection, and pricing.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or mechanical discipline or demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
- Be an experienced professional with hands-on commercial experience of pricing, bids, and the tendering process.
- Be comfortable working in complex situations, making decisions without clearly defined parameters.
- Enjoy presenting, training, public speaking and being the subject matter expert to the outside world.
- Be comfortable making difficult decisions, escalating issues, and questioning the norm.
- Be fluent in English and Spanish.
- Be able to travel 10% of the time (domestic).
