A team of 75, we leverage our digital manufacturing technologies, manufacturing expertise, and decades of trial and error to deliver the highest quality products - an outcome unmatched. We offer our clients extensive in-house services and capabilities that allow us to take on projects at any stage of development from concept to installation.
Fabrication Pre-Requisite

A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, in fast fabrication. Our CNC roles ensure that our manufacturing team meets production goals while maintaining high standards of best practices, quality, and efficiency. 
Familiarity with machining processes for a number of different composite materials
Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions effectively.
Proficiency in using various hand tools related to manufacturing processes.
The Equipment
We run three 3-axis Thermwood routers, a 5-axis Royce router and a 7-axis Kuka robot. Adjacent in metal, for cross-training are our Kern Laser and Amada HG1303 Press Brake.

Example Variety of Responsibilities, Depending on the Role

  • Interpret technical drawings and CAD models and accurately translate them into programs and finished parts
  • Apply industry best practices and approaches in CNC programming and machining
  • Efficiently execute work assignments, ensuring the optimal use of available tools and machinery
  • Ensure outcomes align with manufacturing, project, or deliverable-specific criteria
  • Work within the constraints of machine capabilities, taking into account variables like material size, tooling, and spindle speed
  • Operate CNC machines, including loading materials, verifying programs, tooling the machines, and supervising operations
  • Play a pivotal role in quality assurance efforts, ensuring the accuracy of CNC-made parts
  • Take an engaged stance in advancing ongoing projects through collaboration with various departments and staff
  • Maintain server integrity and adhere to file organization procedures
  • Fill out detailed run sheets for efficient machine operations
  • Conduct quality checks to uphold the highest standards
  • Work closely with other departments, suggesting changes that optimize the manufacturing process when necessary
  • Uphold procedures, safety, and maintenance protocols
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleanup of CNC areas
  • Maintain excellent communication throughout the company
  • Adhere to Axiom's CNC standards and procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance across all aspects of CNC programming, machining, manufacturing, and safety


Example Variety of Experience, Depending on the Role

  • Proficiency in CAD and CNC programming
  • Programming CNC routers, Mastercam preferred, will be trained in Cabinet Vision if not proficient
  • Knowledge of programming best practices, including nesting, tooling choices, cut order, etc.
  • Understanding of various material characteristics and behaviors (plywoods, hardwoods, MDF, metals, plastics)
  • General knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Ability to work independently while closely following instructions
  • Proven problem-solving skills, capable of identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting issues
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Physical ability to lift 50lbs+
  • Capability to undergo training and certification for forklift operation

You are comfortable and confident in managing what you know how to build and you enjoy being an integral part of a team. You are highly motivated, organized, a collaborator. You are committed to project excellence and have an outstanding attention to detail -- you love the craft.
You have exemplary communication skills. You thrive when working in an active environment against tight deadlines. Drawings, the computer, software (like MasterCam, Powermill, CabinetVision), email, and spreadsheets are familiar tools. You welcome the challenge to quickly learn about and produce machined parts for our industry including millwork/casework, retail environments, etc.. However, as with our capabilities, the project options are endless.
Because we produce custom projects, regardless of your level of experience, you have to be willing to ask questions and be willing to flex between working on a team and individually.
Schedule
The typical work schedule is M-F, but the role also requires flexible hours and availability for overtime, as needed in the evening or on the weekend to meet production deadlines. Weekend work is atypical, but can happen from time to time.
