Reports To: VP of Operations

Position Overview:

As a Cloud Technical Lead, you will oversee and manage the Cloud Team, ensuring the successful design, implementation, and optimization of our dental focused, cloud-based infrastructure (Microsoft Azure). You will set and enforce technical standards, provide expert guidance, and drive best practices in cloud architecture, security, automation, and performance. This role focuses on team leadership, cloud strategy, security, profitability and performance monitoring to ensure high availability and scalability of cloud solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and support the Cloud Team, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to align goals, provide project updates, and address any challenges.
  • Identify training needs and provide opportunities for skill enhancement, including cloud certifications and professional development.
  • Oversee workload distribution and resource allocation within the Cloud team to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the team's efficiency and effectiveness in cloud management.
  • Drive the training of new team members

2. Cloud Infrastructure Strategy and Best Practices:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce standards for the deployment, management, and optimization of cloud infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (HIPAA), security best practices, and organizational policies in cloud architecture and automation.
  • Continuously assess and improve cloud deployment processes, incorporating emerging technologies to enhance efficiency.

3. Technical Oversight and Guidance:

  • Provide expert guidance on cloud architecture, security, networking, automation, and scalability.
  • Assist team members in troubleshooting complex technical issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Review and approve cloud design frameworks, system configurations, and implementation plans.
  • Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies to provide informed recommendations on optimizing cloud environments.

4. Security, Compliance, and Risk Management:

  • Ensure cloud security policies and best practices are consistently followed to protect sensitive data and minimize risks.
  • Implement security controls such as identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and monitoring solutions.
  • Conduct periodic security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation plans to ensure compliance with HIPAA.

5. Performance Optimization and Automation:

  • Monitor cloud system performance to ensure high availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor client profitability to ensure we are running a profitable business. Make changes to their stack, or suggest we move on from a client if we cannot deliver a profitable product/experience.
  • Utilize cloud monitoring tools and analytics to proactively identify and resolve potential bottlenecks or issues.
  • Implement automation solutions to streamline cloud operations, reduce manual tasks, and enhance system reliability.

6. Communication and Collaboration:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Cloud team-related matters, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication within the Cloud team and across other internal teams when necessary.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute cloud strategies that support organizational goals.

7. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track and report key cloud performance metrics, security incidents, cost optimizations, and system reliability.
  • Track and report on clients with abnormally high ticket levels and proactively reach out to address concerns.
  • Prepare documentation and reports on cloud strategies, project outcomes, and future initiatives.
  • Identify and implement performance improvement initiatives based on system analytics and business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, cloud engineering, or cloud architecture management.
  • 1+ year experience in Managing/Developing/Mentoring a Team
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, automation, and networking.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (HIPAA) in cloud environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm EST
