TECKpert seeks to hire a Cloud Network Architect to support our client, a government agency based in Tallahassee, FL to oversee enterprise-level IT projects. The Network Architect will design, implement, and maintain network infrastructures to ensure secure, high-speed connectivity between cloud and on-premise environments. The role involves contributing to the technical strategy, supporting scalability, and optimizing network performance for our client.
Job duties include:
- Design and deploy advanced network architectures for hybrid environments (cloud and on-premise).
- Plan and implement scalable solutions, ensuring performance aligns with organizational needs.
- Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Establish secure, high-speed connections between on-premise systems and cloud platforms.
- Contribute to the development of DMS’s technical roadmap by evaluating emerging technologies.
- Recommend innovative network solutions that align with business priorities.
- Support large-scale migration projects, including transitioning systems to Azure.
- Proactively monitor network performance and conduct capacity planning.
- Identify areas for improvement, optimize configurations, and troubleshoot network issues.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and implement strategies to enhance network security and efficiency.
- Manage cloud-based systems such as Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Desktops, and Azure Files.
- Utilize Azure networking tools, including ExpressRoute, Virtual Networks (VNETs), and Load Balancers.
- Implement and manage backup solutions, disaster recovery plans, and storage solutions.
- Work with IT staff, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure successful project execution.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical plans and how-to guides.
- Mentor junior technical staff to foster skill development and adherence to best practices.
- Ensure robust security measures, including encryption, MFA, and access controls.
- Conduct data validation, permissions audits, and implement conditional access policies.
LocationThis is an on-site position. Candidates must be located in or near Tallahassee, Florida. Compensation and Term:This is a full-time, contract position with potential extensions. Compensation varies with experience, up to $130,000. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance are available after 30 days of hire.Qualifications You Need:The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (equivalent experience may substitute).
- Minimum of 7 years of IT experience, including 3-5 years in cloud infrastructure projects.
Experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments, particularly in network architecture and system migrations. - Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-level network infrastructures.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, and switching) and advanced routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Experience with Azure-specific services, such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Desktops, Azure Files Virtual Networks (VNETs) ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, Network Security Groups (NSGs)Hands-on experience migrating on-premise systems to Azure, including virtual machines, applications, and data storage solutions.
- Deep understanding of network security technologies, including encryption, firewalls, MFA, and conditional access policies.
- Expertise in configuring backup solutions, testing disaster recovery plans, and setting RPO/RTO objectives.
- Preferred Microsoft Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
