JOB SUMMARY

Candidates residing within 50 miles of either Pittsburgh or Camp Hill are required to work from the office three days per week.

The Cloud FinOps Manager will lead our cloud FinOps group with a focus on cost optimization, financial accountability, and driving best practices within the organization for cloud spend. This critical role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize cloud spending across our AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI environments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud billing, cost allocation, and optimization techniques, coupled with strong analytical and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.  Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive FinOps strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Implement and manage cloud cost optimization tools and processes.

  • Analyze cloud spending across all platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI) to identify cost savings opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain detailed cloud cost allocation models.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.

  • Provide regular reporting and analysis of cloud spending and cost optimization progress.

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline cost management processes and stay abreast of the latest FinOps best practices and technologies.

  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 3 years of experience in Management or leadership role

  • 3 years of experience in cloud cost management and optimization

  • 2 years of Proven experience analyzing and optimizing cloud costs across AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI

  • 2 years of experience in Deep understanding of cloud billing models and cost allocation methodologies.

  • 1 year of experience with cloud cost management tools (e.g., Cloudability, CloudHealth, etc.).

  • 1 year of experience in Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI).

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner certification.

Preferred

  • Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting cloud spending.

  • Experience with developing and implementing cloud cost governance policies.

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).

SKILLS

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.  

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay Range Minimum:

$92,300.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$172,500.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.  The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
