About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AWS Cloud and FinOps professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in architecting and deploying AWS services, financial management principles, and a passion for optimizing cloud costs. You will work closely with engineering, finance, and operations teams to implement and maintain FinOps best practices, ensuring efficient utilization of AWS resources and maximizing ROI.
Responsibilities:
- AWS Infrastructure:
- Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and other relevant services.
- Implement and configure AWS infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Optimize cloud resources for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
- Implement security best practices to protect cloud environments.
- Cost Optimization:
- Analyze cloud usage patterns and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement cost-saving strategies such as rightsizing instances, utilizing reserved instances, and leveraging spot instances.
- Monitor and optimize cloud spending to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast and track cloud costs.
- Collaborate with finance teams to establish budgets and track spending.
- Provide regular financial reports on cloud usage and costs.
- Cloud Governance:
- Enforce cloud governance policies and standards to ensure security and compliance.
- Implement cost controls and budgets to prevent overspending.
- Promote a culture of cost-consciousness within the organization.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand their cloud usage patterns and requirements.
- Collaborate with finance teams to align cloud spending with business objectives.
- Engage with AWS account teams to resolve billing and technical issues.
Required Skills:

- Strong understanding of AWS cloud platform services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Security)
- Strong understanding of AWS pricing models
- Experience with cloud cost optimization tools and techniques (e.g. Apptio, CloudHealth etc.)
- Knowledge of financial management principles and budgeting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- Overall 10-12 years of experience as a AWS Cloud Architect and FinOps Analyst/Lead
- AWS Certifications preferred
- Experience with managing FinOps for hundreds of AWS accounts
- Sound Knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies
