Job Description
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud FinOps Analyst to join our team. The Cloud FinOps Analyst will play a crucial role in optimizing our cloud infrastructure costs, ensuring efficient resource utilization, and driving cost-effective strategies across our cloud environments. You will partner with a wide variety of collaborators to promote and developing a culture of cost accountability and awareness at SEEK. This role will provide financial modelling, budgeting & forecasting, consumption analysis including important metrics, show back, analytics and capacity.
Qualifications
Key Accountabilities
- Analyse, report, and produce meaningful insights from large raw datasets within cloud billing and usage tools, data lake, CMDB, and other asset inventories as applicable.
- Develop and implement cost optimization strategies, including rightsizing instances, identifying and eliminating waste, and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, operations, and finance, to align cloud resource usage with business objectives and budgets.
- Establish and maintain cloud cost governance policies, processes, and standard methodologies.
- Automate cloud cost reporting, forecasting, and optimization tasks using tools and scripts.
- Provide regular reports and insights on cloud spending, cost trends, and optimization opportunities to collaborators and leadership.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud pricing models, services, and cost optimization techniques.
- Participate in cloud architecture design reviews to ensure efficient solutions are implemented.
- Support the cloud monthly budget and forecast process in handling consumption, show back, and savings in collaboration with accounting, finance, and technical owners.
- Support collaborators in understanding their cloud spend based on their business roadmap and budgeted forecast.
- Monitor cloud consumption at the account level to detect, investigate, and call out anomalies and unplanned spikes.
- Collaborate with Cost Optimization Engineers to supervise resource utilization to define and complete relevant cloud dedication plans and to define strategies to re-purpose freed up capacity.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Validated experience as a Cloud FinOps Analyst or a similar role, with a strong understanding of cloud cost management principles and standard methodologies.
- Knowledge of the core Finance principles and basic understanding of the corporate accounting process (forecast, invoicing, showback, accruals…etc.)
- Hands-on experience with cloud cost management tools and services (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel).
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure services, such as compute, storage, networking, and databases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sophisticated data and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and deliver presentations to leaders.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work efficiently with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Familiarity with cloud cost management tools and FinOps frameworks (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, FinOps Foundation) is a plus.
- Experience with Analytics and Reporting Tools such as AWS Quicksight
- Familiarity with ERP platforms and supporting processes i.e. Account Payable, Finance

Additional Information
The Team
The Cloud Operation APAC FinOps team is part of a growing function and reports to the Head of Cloud Operation APAC. This role is important to ensure that SEEK is improving value from our use of Cloud Products and Services. The role will work collaboratively to define, drive, and deliver Cloud FinOps capabilities for SEEK working closely with the Engineering Community, Architecture, Finance as well as other Technology Teams.
