Job Description

As the manager of the Cloud Engineer teams worldwide, you will be in charge of the teams that maintain, update and deploy our cloud infrastructures. You will work closely with other members of the IT and R&D teams to ensure our cloud environments are available, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Our teams build and maintain our SaaS application, which manages more than 150 million IoT devices, in more than 25,000 stores in 24/7. We are processing more than 200 million of data change every day. Our target for 2027 is to manage 1 billion IoT devices.

Reporting directly to the Cloud Director, you’ll have the following missions:

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the cloud engineering teams to deliver exceptional service.
  • Coordinate different teams, ensure communication and shared processes.
  • Conduct regular team reviews, provide feedback, and identify areas for development.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative environment.

Production releases

  • Ensure process and controls to deploy to staging, and production environments with quality and minimum interruptions.
  • Identify improvements, plan and execute to completion.

Incident management

  • Ensure that processes are in place and mastered to deal with incidents
  • Ensure communication and lessons learnt during and after incidents
  • Identify, track and execute improvement plan following incidents

Continuous improvement and security

  • Ensure that the platform is continuously monitored, identify improvements in monitoring and alerting
  • Identify improvements in the platforms, as well as the tooling to support, maintain and update them
  • Ensure that documentation is available, understood and shared.
  • Take part in security reviews.
  • Propose and track security improvements.
  • Take part in processes optimisation, documentation, audits (e.g. SOC2) 

Qualifications

Qualifications we’re looking for.  

  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering
    • Experience with Retail customers would be appreciated.
    • Proven experience managing cloud teams in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experiencing managing customer relationships, leading and scaling engineering teams.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of SaaS products, cloud technologies, and web-based applications.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach.
    • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users clearly and concisely.
    • Mastering French, German or Spanish would be a plus.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
