Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to meet the organization's business requirements. This position involves working with various cloud platforms, deploying and optimizing cloud-based solutions, and ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud environments. This position is primarily remote with some onsite days.
Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Design and Deployment:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design scalable and reliable cloud architectures
- Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure, leveraging platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Automation and Scripting:
- Develop automation scripts and templates for provisioning and configuring cloud resources
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure consistency and repeatability in deployments

Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud environments
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct regular security audits, and ensure compliance with industry regulations

Performance Optimization:
- Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud resources to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Identify and implement solutions to improve the overall performance of applications hosted in the cloud

Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide appropriate cloud solutions
- Document architecture, processes, and procedures for maintaining and troubleshooting cloud environments

Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices
- Propose and implement improvements to existing cloud infrastructure based on evolving business needs and technological advancements

Troubleshooting and Support:
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications
- Provide support for incidents and contribute to the development of incident response plans
Qualifications:
- TS/SCI with Poly
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated services
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and best practices for cloud environments
- Certification in relevant cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) is a plus
