Job Summary:
Everest has an opportunity for a Claims Operations professional to join our Ceded Reinsurance team. This individual should possess the ability to understand and apply reinsurance structures to claims, collaborate with organizations claim professionals, coordinate audits, resolve reinsurance inquiries and handle assigned ceded reinsurance operation tasks.
This is a hybrid position working 3 days in office, 2 remote in either our Warren, NJ or Chicago, IL office.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Serve as a ceded reinsurance claim point of contact for internal claim department.

Report claims per reinsurance contract terms.

Develop external relationships with reinsurers.

Flag issues and escalate urgent matters to management.

Monitor incoming correspondence for material updates, assess potential severity and advise internal placement team.

Respond to reinsurance inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Create and maintain claim identification and diary reports for workflow management.

Comply with all relevant state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Work Experience & Qualifications:

A minimum of 4 years of claims or reinsurance operations experience.

Proficient in MS Excel.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
-
Strong analytical, organizational and investigation skills.

Collaborative mind-set and willingness to work with people outside immediate reporting hierarchy to improve processes and generate optimal departmental efficiency.

Ability to create spreadsheets and enter information into database.

Ability to calculate reinsurance based on contract terms.

Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the legal and regulatory environment.
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

Insurance industry designation(s)/certification(s) preferred.
