Chief Evangelist / Field CTO - Operations Cloud
Role Overview:
As PagerDuty's Chief Evangelist/Field CTO, you will be a transformational leader within our Solutions Consulting organization, focusing on our most strategic enterprise customers. You will serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader, helping Fortune 500 companies reimagine their operational practices and embrace modern digital operations platforms. This role requires someone who can articulate compelling visions of operational excellence while understanding the complexities and constraints of traditional enterprise environments.
How You Impact Our Vision: Key Responsibilities
- Drive adoption of PagerDuty's Operations Cloud platform at scale within complex enterprise environments.
- Represent PagerDuty at high-profile industry events and customer advisory boards
- Partner with executive leadership teams at our most strategic accounts to drive organizational transformation and adoption of modern operational practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with C-suite executives (CEO, CIO, CTO, VP of Operations, VP of Engineering, VP of Development, CISO, CCO)
- Develop and articulate thought leadership around the future of digital operations, particularly focusing on AI, automation, and organizational resilience.
- Challenge conventional operational paradigms and help traditionally conservative enterprises embrace modern approaches to incident response and digital operations
- Create and deliver executive-level presentations that connect technical capabilities to business outcomes.
- Work closely with Sales/Solution Consulting and Customer Success teams to translate strategic vision into tactical execution, ensuring successful implementation and adoption of modern operational practices within our crown jewel accounts. Partner with these teams to develop and execute transformation roadmaps that align with customer's business objectives while driving measurable operational improvements.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to influence product direction based on enterprise customer needs.
This Role Requires:
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise technology, with significant exposure to both traditional and modern operational practices
- Deep understanding of ITIL, DevOps, SRE practices, and modern operational frameworks
- Hands-on experience implementing large-scale incident response and digital operations transformations
- Solid technical background with an understanding of:
- GenAI, RAG & Agentic AI
- Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD pipelines and practices
- Cloud-native architectures
- AI/ML applications in operations
- Automation and orchestration
- Demonstrated agility in mastering emerging technologies and adapting to rapid technical evolution.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence C-level executives
- Track record of driving organizational change in Fortune 500 environments
- Experience building and maintaining executive relationships across global organizations
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a CTO, Chief Architect, or senior technical leadership role
- Published thought leadership content (books, articles, whitepapers)
- Speaking experience at major industry conferences
- Experience implementing PagerDuty or similar digital operations platforms at scale
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture and digital transformation
- Experience with modern AI/ML platforms and their application in operations
