Job Summary
We are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Chief Engineer with a minimum of 15 years in software engineering and a proven track record of leading Service Domain architecture and delivering Greenfield projects in enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate will possess deep hands-on expertise in TypeScript, Microservices, and cloud-native development, with a focus on AWS infrastructure and frameworks. A critical success factor in this role is a strong understanding of service consumption metrics and the ability to architect for performance, scalability, and resilience in a high-demand financial services environment, specifically within the technology landscape of the Tier 1 Bank.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Service Domain architectures, building scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using TypeScript and Microservices.
- Spearhead Greenfield initiatives from concept to production, aligning technical execution with business objectives.
- Architect cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services, particularly Lambda, Aurora PostgreSQL, and Serverless Framework.
- Define and improve how service domains are measured by consumption, using KPIs and analytics to enhance service reliability and efficiency.
- Drive the implementation of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, fostering automation and continuous delivery.
- Collaborate closely with architects, product managers, developers, and QA teams to deliver cohesive and aligned technical strategies.
- Promote best practices in system design using industry-standard patterns such as Circuit Breaker, event-driven design, and service orchestration.
- Lead technical reviews and enforce engineering excellence through code quality, testing strategies, and performance optimization.
- Provide strategic technical guidance and mentoring to senior engineers, fostering a high-performing engineering culture.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior stakeholders, clearly articulating project progress, risks, and architectural vision.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in a leadership or chief engineer role.
- Deep expertise in Service Domain architecture and large-scale system design.
- Proven experience in leading Greenfield projects within complex enterprise settings.
- Strong hands-on development background in TypeScript, Node.js, and cloud-native APIs.
- Proficiency in Microservices architecture, RESTful services, and event-driven systems.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS ecosystem, with production experience in Lambda, Aurora PostgreSQL, and Kafka (MSK).
- Strong grasp of how service domains are evaluated through consumption-based metrics.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (optional), and scalable container-based deployments.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing high-performing engineering teams.
- Solid experience working in Agile/DevOps environments with emphasis on CI/CD pipelines.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align technical strategies with business goals.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience working with Banking domain or similar Tier-1 financial institutions.
- Familiarity with financial industry regulations and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR).
- Exposure to DevSecOps practices integrating security throughout the SDLC.
- Knowledge of additional technologies such as GraphQL, Kubernetes, or advanced event-streaming patterns.
