Chemist - Analytical Reviewer

JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week onsite in Melville, NY or Northbrook, IL.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results. Records and explains test results and completes test report.
• Applies conformance criteria to data sets for the purpose of comparison.
• Communicates project status and results as needed.
• Holds responsibility for defining test plan, report completion and accuracy, meeting of agreed deadlines, and managing project related activities.
• Examines customer samples and evaluate appropriate tests for each case with support.
• Communicates with internal/external customers to ensure proper evaluation.
• Understands and is able to explain specific test standards and product technology for scope of responsibility.
• Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
• Communicates with management and technical staff to provide suggestions for processes, and forms to improve accuracy and efficiencies.
• Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors' degree in Chemistry, Forensic Science, Polymer Science, Biochemistry, Organic/Inorganic Chemistry, Material Science but not limited to these disciplines only.
• Experience with Infrared Analysis (IR), Thermogravimetry Analysis (TGA), and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) preferred.
• Experience with polymers preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with Engineering and other Laboratory Personnel to complete projects in a timely manner with high quality - even when remote.
• Highly effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.

What we offer:

• Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $52,900-60,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
