We collaborate and innovate – pushing one another to transform not just Pacific Life, but the entire industry for the better. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. Pacific Life is more than a job, it’s a career with purpose. It’s a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future – including your own.
We’re actively seeking a talented Change Management Specialist to join our Enterprise Change Management (ECM) team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.
As a Change Management Specialist, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by playing a crucial role in supporting organizational and project-based change initiatives within the HR department. As a member of the Enterprise Change Management team, your primary focus will be on facilitating smooth transitions during process changes, system implementations, and other transformational projects. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that employees adapt to changes effectively and maximize their adoption of new processes and technologies. This role provides an excellent foundation for advancing within the change management and organizational development discipline. As you gain experience, you’ll have opportunities to take on more complex projects and contribute to larger-scale organizational transformations.

You will fill a new role that sits on a team of 8 people in the Human Resources department. Your colleagues will include Change Management and Sr Change Management Practitioners, and fellow Organizational Development professionals. Our Enterprise Change Management team is new, established in 2024.
How you’ll help move us forward:

  • Support the AVP of ECM and a fellow Change Management Practitioner in executing the defined change management strategies for HR.
  • Apply our ECM team’s structured methodology, toolkit, tools, and playbook to drive quantifiable impact aligned to business strategies and objectives.
  • Evaluate, measure, and manage stakeholder readiness and adoption to enable speed of adoption and achieve business ROI.
  • Manage and update change management related site content in SharePoint.
  • Audit applicability of change management related trainings in the LMS system on quarterly basis.
  • Partner with initiative program or project members to integrate change management activities into project plans; promote the use of change enablement tools and processes; drive change strategy effectiveness while minimizing disruption.
  • Support organizational development work, as needed, in partnership with our OD Consultants.

The experience you bring:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a change management, change analyst, or organizational development role.
  • Strong execution capabilities.
  • Self-starter who can consistently manage up, is well organized, can effectively execute on time.
  • Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Data analytics and insights experience.
  • Excellent active listening and communication skills.
  • Displays a clear growth mindset that enables you to adapt and grow.

What makes you stand out:

  • You are Prosci certified and have applied the methodology to at least one initiative.
  • You have organizational development experience.
  • You have experience in the Insurance, Finance, and/or Actuarial space.
  • You are resilient in the face of multiple changes and transformations that affect you personally.
  • You are data-driven and analytical, because you know that without a measurement plan that is based on behaviors, you can't quantify change impacts.
  • You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and adjusting to evolving project requirements.
  • You are able to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • You have a growth mindset and have examples to prove that.
