Skydance Animation Madrid is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic CFX trainee to join our studio!
As a CFX trainee, you will be supporting the CFX team in creating dynamic rigs for characters and executing CFX work in shots including character simulations, geometry correctives, and groom correctives.
Our Internship Program offers its own unique learning opportunities. You will have the chance to network and meet with Skydance leaders, learn transferable skills, and gain real-world experience. It is an experience ideal for those moving from the classroom to the industry.

Responsibilities
- Creates and understands existing cloth, hair, feathers and skin simulations rigs in Houdini.
- Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and on technology trends and tools that best suit the production and the company, in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment.
- Follows supervisor’s and lead´s guidance.
- Follows the Tutor’s guidance.
- Is proactive and work alongside other team members to improve their skills.
- Gets familiarized with the studio’s workflows and pipeline.
- Adapts to shot work workflows, submit and review shots.
- Attends department meetings.
Requirements
- Artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation is a must.
- Good understanding of the processes of grooming, surfacing, rendering, and simulation.
- Knowledge of Houdini, especially in regard to cloth and hair simulation.
- Knowledge of grooming tools is a plus (in Houdini), VEX, Python or C/C++ programming.
- Must be available for at least 3 months onsite (from Monday until Friday, 35h/week).
- Must be currently enrolled in your last year in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s program at an accredited institution.
- Self-starter with proficient writing and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Highly motivated and interested in Animation and Technology.
- Excellent communication with Sup, Leads and the rest of the team.
- Good team player!
- High English level.
- Spanish desirable.
