Arxada is looking for a Global Category Manager to lead and assume full accountability for Oleochemical Category to support all of Arxada’s businesses. Identify and deliver value based on category management excellence and through applying a professional procurement approach. Drives category expertise through an understanding of supply markets/trends, cost drivers and the impact to Arxada’s business model. Works closely with key stakeholders to build effective category strategies that enable step change improvements in quality, service, innovation and sustainable annual cost reductions and value creation. Incorporates knowledge of internal and external manufacturing capabilities to support make vs. buy decisions. Develop supplier relationships that leverage supplier capabilities, improve supply continuity and reduce total cost of ownership. Effectively prioritize work incorporating Operations, Quality and Business Unit requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
- Drive global procurement for Petrochemical
- Lead the relevant product supply process and improve the overall efficiency of the supply chain
- Interpret information and translate into actionable strategies and forward-looking analyses
- Support and lead specific supplier selection, negotiation and supplier management strategies – maintain alignment and support strategy development on entire category
- Drive awareness of active supply issues clarifying business impact and lead resolution plans
- Review Supplier Change Notices and align will all stakeholders to drive implementation
- Work closely with Supplier Quality to supervise supplier performance metrics and actively participate in CAPA development, execution and closure plans
- Review supplier audit schedule, conduct pre audit meeting with supplier, participate in post supplier audit meetings; Attend supplier audits when feasible
- Share rolling requirements forecasts with suppliers and work with Arxada manufacturing sites to develop effective inventory replenishment strategies.
- Deeply assess supply base to identify risks of supply disruptions within the supply chain
- Develop risk management strategies and drive development and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation plans
- Proactively manage supplier relationships
- Identify and engage with internal collaborators, including Operations, Quality, Business Units, Corporate Functions and R&D
- Drive annual cost savings (includes year over year price reductions and cost avoidance with value generation) in each spend category/sub-category
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, preferably in Procurement/Supply Chain, Engineering, Chemistry, Finance or Business
- 5+ years shown experience in operations and Procurement/Strategic sourcing
- Experience in a regulated industry preferred
- Demonstrated experience in category management and strategic sourcing
- Business and financial savvy and Strategic Sourcing expertise
The expected salary range for this role is $131,000 to $160,000 USD, but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.
