Overview of The Role

The Category advisor will be responsible for partnering with Walmart and leveraging shopper, category, and market insights to drive category growth initiatives. The candidate will work directly with the buying teams supporting with analytics and planogram development for the Dairy case cheese and Deli cheese category.

This role requires deep analysis of sales data, market trends, and consumer behaviour to optimize product assortment and placement and enhance the shopper experience to ensure Walmart remains competitive in the marketplace.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:

  • Leverage consumer, shopper, category and market insights to drive strategic initiatives 

  • Develop strong relationship with the buying teams by serving as the subject matter expert for the category and providing fact-based insights to support decision making

  • Abide by Category management principles and deliver unbiased category recommendations

  • Utilize various data sources (Retail link, NielsenIQ, Numerator) to conduct analysis and deliver actionable insights

  • Support in the category & planogram review process by identifying opportunities in product assortment, distribution and merchandising

  • Leverage JDA Space planning software to develop, manage and implement planogram changes while optimizing space at shelf

  • Remain on the forefront of consumer and industry trends and proactively share with the buying team

  • Conduct routine reporting and support with ad hoc data requests

  • Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:

  • University education—Business or Data analytics related

  • 5+ years progressive category management experience

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills

  • Must have strong time management skills and possess a high degree of initiative

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Strong knowledge of NielsenIQ Discover, Retail link, JDA Space planning software

  • Prior vendor/category advisor experience a strong asset

  • Prior experience with Dairy case cheese/Deli cheese an asset

As part of his duties, the incumbent will have to communicate and collaborate in English, both orally and in writing with colleagues or other stakeholders in Quebec as well as in the rest of Canada or in North America.

Salary Range: $88,325 - $115,930

*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
