Join the Azenta Finance team as a Cash Application Accountant for our Multiomics Business, working with a global team of professionals to support the timely, accurate and insightful preparation of monthly reporting, as well as support annual audits and quarterly reviews and support internal control and compliance initiatives.
You’ll work with a global team as you develop knowledge about key business issues, support new initiatives, and identify opportunities to leverage technology. Grow personally and professionally while building a network within the life sciences industry!
What You’ll Do…
- The Cash Application Accountant is responsible for accurately processing and applying customer payments to their accounts, ensuring timely and precise processing of financial transactions.
- The focus of the assignment is to research aged transactions in multiple applications and reconcile customer accounts.
- Investigate and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments.
- Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of cash application processes.
- Communicate with internal teams (AR &Customer service) and external stakeholders to resolve any payment issues.
- Assist and implement improvements in the cash application process to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Global Finance Team to standardize and streamline recurring processes and data collection activities, establishing best practices that improve efficiency, and optimize the use of technology.
- Assist with projects in various capacities from the execution of tasks on larger cross functional projects to project management activities on smaller projects.
What you will Bring…
- A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and 3 years of professional work experience is required.
- Previous professional work experience in finance, preferably working with cash applications, billing, and collections.
- Ability to trace complex Accounts Receivable transaction activity in a methodical manner.
- Cost application accounting background preferred
- Focus on continuous improvement in areas of responsibility to drive transition to “best in class” finance organization.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently with large volumes of data.
- Strong analytical & interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely with external organizations and internal stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work under pressure and with multiple deadlines.
- A sense of urgency and self-motivation, with a personal commitment to meeting deadlines.
Other Requirements
- Public company experience is preferred but not required.
- NetSuite Experience is preferred but not required.
- Technical working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Internal Controls and SEC accounting/reporting rules.
- This role is in office in our South Plainfield, NJ location, 4 days a week/1 day remote.
- Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
