The Office for Institutional Equity and Title IX is dedicated to promoting equity at Carnegie Mellon University, which includes coordinating the University's efforts to prevent and effectively respond to forms of discrimination, bias, and sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sexual harassment, dating and domestic violence, and stalking, which impact community members.

We are seeking a dedicated Case Administrator to join the team. This position will be responsible for an array of duties including ensuring legal compliance for all potential discriminatory reports, including sexual misconduct, and managing all case data documented by the IEX office in the shared drive, HR Acuity, and EthicsPoint. This includes receiving reports, opening, updating and closing cases in the case management systems as needed.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates various clerical aspects of programs or projects, i.e., data collection, investigation deadlines, and reports of case activity reports to university leadership, lecture series, travel arrangements, etc.
  • Drafts correspondence to parties and witnesses involved in IEX cases. Prepares agendas, assembles data, sets up and coordinates arrangements for meetings, conferences, workshops, etc. Takes and distributes minutes. Gathers data and produces statistical and narrative reports for meetings.
  • Produces and assembles regular reports and summaries. Frequently required to respond directly to inquiries and requests regarding reports of discriminatory behavior.
  • Provides clerical/administrative support for the program/project area.
  • Provides in-depth information to faculty, staff, students, outside associates and the general public concerning particular programs and projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of administrative support experience required.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Excellent organization, planning, problem-solving and reasoning skills.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
