Job Summary:
The C3 Presents Accounting Team is currently seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to join our team. This position will oversee management of budgets and financial statements for multiple divisions, as well as analyze key financial schedules/deliverables and assist in other accounting functions as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage budgets; work with various departments to update forecasts across multiple companies and provide financial analysis of variances after forecast updates to confirm updates are appropriate & in line with expectations
- Month end close: preparation of P&L and event related journal entries, including accruals and appropriate reclasses; internal eliminating account tie outs; intercompany journal entries
- Perform financial analysis of variances between actuals and forecast to determine if misstatements exist each month prior to ledger locking and make corrections as needed
- Review and reconcile various settlements immediately following the event and record necessary JEs
- Prepare client settlements based on event budget reconciliation
- Work directly with Staff Accountant to mentor, assist, and delegate workload accordingly, including:
- Reviewing and approving AP and Staff Accountants’ journal entries
- Assist with bank reconciliations and associated research
- working with AP/AR Specialists to ensure that all receivables, receipts, and payable items are processed and recorded accurately and timely as needed
- assistance with cash/pex requests, returns and show checks as needed
- Work closely with other departments to determine expected revenue projection updates and adjust forecast for material updates
- File and pay monthly, quarterly & annual sales tax as required. Set up accounts with local, city and state tax authorities when necessary
- Manage payables workflow and authorizing invoices within a specified threshold.
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets including providing financial analysis of variances after budget is loaded to confirm swings from prior year actuals are appropriate or if further communication with operations is necessary.
- Maintain accounting files; provide audit support as needed, ensure that files are in compliance with GAAP and all company policies and procedures
- Perform other accounting functions as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5+ years of comparable work experience
- Exceptional Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel
- ERP experience, preferably Oracle, but equivalent is sufficient
- Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to take direction and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
