C++ Software Engineer
About the project
Within the Engineering cluster, the Naval business unit is collaborating within the Thales group on the development of combat and information management systems for navy ships, integration with sensor- and weapon systems as well as the development of sensor processing applications. These complex systems contain advanced solutions for information processing, information management and the user interaction with both sensor- and weapon systems. Our product, called TACTICOS, offers essential support for missions varying from anti-piracy to ballistic missile defense.
About the job
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team and help us develop and maintain various software products/functionalities in the area of Combat Management and Sensors Systems.
- You will be part of a multidisciplinary and self-managing Agile team located in our premises in Bucharest
- Our Naval teams develop and test applications, features and/or components the software platform for the Tacticos combat management system, the radar systems and the sensor systems;
- Cybersecurity is an integral part of the whole process;
- Thales highly values the application of modern technologies and methodologies;
About you
Do you have a passion for technology, do you enjoy constantly developing your skills and are you interested in working on Naval Command & Control systems? Then you are the person we are looking for.
- You are a talented Software Engineer, with minimum 4 years of relevant experience (in Linux) using one of the technologies: C/C++ and wilingness to improve your knowledge
- You have the ability to collaborate on projects and work independently when required
- With every design decision you take, security is the first thing you consider. Relevant technologies that you will use in your activities include: Linux, Jenkins, Bitbuket/Git, Podman/Docker;
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system (in particular RHEL6 - 8) is highly appreciated;
Nice to have:
- Observability: Ansible, Linux, QT, Kubernetes, ELK stack
- Window Management: Ansible
- System Thinking
- Python or Java
