Thales in the Czech Republic employs over 400 people from 45 different nationalities. A total of 15 teams work on projects for government agencies, banking, mobile services and the Internet Of Things (IoT) technology. At the core of our business is the development of software which we configure and embed in a multitude of different devices and form factors. These include many kinds of payment cards, SIM cards, travel passes, secure eBanking devices, authentication tokens, machine identification modules (MIM), and secure ID documents including ePassports, eID and eHealth cards, as well as eDriving licenses. Because of the international environment surrounding us every day, it comes as no surprise that English is our official corporate language.
As a SW development engineer, you will work with issuance and reading of secure documents (Passports, ID cards, Driver licenses, Tachograph cards) and cryptography and verification of ID documents at border control. You will learn which principles are making the modern e-government a reality.
As a member of our R&D team, you will contribute to development of key products and components, which are then used by other Thales teams to deliver tailor-made solutions to governments and citizens all around the globe.
We are responsible for the design and implementation of software components and products, qualification, and integration of third party's hardware in the scope of government programs. Our products span from reusable libraries (hardware connectors, cryptography), desktop applications integrating various hardware (card/passport printers, fingerprint scanners, digital cameras) up to high performance servers.
Job description
- Responsible for conducting, leading and coordinating software development activities throughout the project.
- Defines and ensures the best solution architecture and design in working with development team and the project manager. Guarantees the technical quality of the solution in the respect of quality, time and cost of the project and acts as a point of technical escalation and resolution during the project lifecycle.
- Perform requirements gathering and analyzing customer requirements perform high-level design and create project specification, perform development tasks and software customizing.
- Provide integration across projects, including tasks definitions, decomposition and planning and ensure alignment of Thales Group best practices.
- Work with project management to communicate and resolve technical design and development issues.
- Act as programming Guru during development phase and provide mentorship and guidance in technical methodologies and techniques used throughout the development and testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
- Very good level of English (daily communication with clients and internal)
- At least 2 years of work experience in .NET Software Development
- Experience with hardware integration with software at SDK level. (document reader, document printer ….)
- Very good knowledge of C, C#
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience with object oriented C# libraries, w3 SOAP services, WPF
- Knowledge of some of the scripting languages
- Customer oriented, good communication skills
- Autonomous in development
Advantage:
- Experience with Angular and TypeScript
- Experience with ASP.NET WEB API or ASP.NET Core REST API, .NET Core and .NET Standard
- Experience with .NET Core and .NET Standard
- Knowledge of SOLID principle
- Knowledge of Unity
