The Opportunity
Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease. Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, bare metal stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vessel closure devices and peripheral stents
Our location in Westford, MA, currently has an opportunity for a Buyer/Planner II.
What You’ll Work On
- Conduct research on potential suppliers and vendors, promotions, and other industry trends as a source of accurate and up-to-date information for purchasing activities.
- Enter data into databases or other computerized systems to maintain up-to-date supplier and vendor information, to track purchase and the status of orders and deliveries, and to generate purchasing reports and statistics.
- Monitor the quality and timeliness of materials and goods supplied.
- Follow-up the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Communicate status of orders with internal customers.
- Activities include sourcing, evaluating and selecting suppliers and vendors, negotiating supply contracts, and monitoring the quality and timeliness of materials and services supplied.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum 1 year experience as a buyer/planner
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years working in a highly regulated environment preferred preferably from a medical device manufacturing environment
- 2 years working with purchasing

The base pay for this position is
$60,000.00 – $120,000.00
