About us:
Zen is revolutionising education. Schools in the UK spend over £2bn a year on agency staff, and £600m of that goes straight into the pockets of recruitment agencies. That’s why we’ve built an alternative. Our online platform gives schools instant access to hundreds of profiles of fully vetted teachers and support staff. Since launching in 2017, we’ve saved schools over £30m – money that goes straight back into school budgets and increases teachers' pay.
We are well-funded by high profile investors and are led by start-up veterans behind two of London’s most prominent tech companies. We have recently raised our Series B funding of $37mil, the largest round in European EdTech this year. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference and be part of a high growth start-up that is expanding rapidly in the UK and US markets!
As a pivotal member of our Revenue and growth operations team, you will be instrumental in driving efficiency and effectiveness across Zen's go-to-market functions. Your primary focus will be on harnessing data, optimizing processes, and fostering collaboration to accelerate growth and support our mission.
Key responsibilities include:
Reporting & Insights: Design, build, and maintain insightful reports and dashboards, establishing a reliable single source of truth for key business metrics across the organization. Your work will provide clarity and actionable insights to various teams, including school success and candidate success
Process Optimization: Proactively identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement within our sales, and account management functions. You will champion and implement data-driven changes to enhance efficiency and scalability across different departments.
Process management & cross-functional collaboration: Act as a key liaison between different teams, facilitating data driven meetings. Your ability to schedule and moderate interactions effectively will be crucial to help drive better outcomes for the business.
Data analysis & collaboration with business: Dive deep into Zen's data structures, often querying data directly using SQL, to understand their direct impact on business outcomes. You will analyze complex datasets, work with multiple business stakeholders to understand the data and its accuracy to identify key trends and translate that raw data into compelling narratives that inform strategic decisions.
Technology & integration: Research, evaluate, and potentially implement new tools and integrations (e.g., CRM enhancements, automation software) that can improve our operational capabilities and data flow.
Who you are:
We are looking for an analytical, and proactive team member who is eager to make a significant impact in a mission-driven organization. You are the ideal candidate if you possess:
Strong analytical acumen: You are naturally curious about data, comfortable navigating complex datasets, and possess a proven ability to extract meaningful insights and see the 'story' behind the numbers. Proficiency in BigQuery/SQL for data querying, extraction, and manipulation is a strong preference for this role.
Reporting Expertise: You have experience creating clear, concise, and impactful reports and dashboards that serve as a single source of truth and drive informed decision-making. (Experience with specific BI tools such as Looker, Power BI is a plus).
Stakeholder engagement: You are very comfortable with engaging with both internal and external stakeholders - you thrive on learning from team members within the organisation to improve your output
Exceptional Interpersonal & Communication Skills: You excel at building relationships, leading discussions, and influencing stakeholders across different teams. You are a fantastic communicator who defaults to over-communicating, ensuring clarity and alignment.
Process improvement Mindset: You constantly seek ways to make things work better and have experience identifying inefficiencies and successfully implementing data-driven process changes.
Ownership mindset: You take initiative and don’t simply wait on to be given improvement projects, but find opportunities to improve the business, develop the business case for why that needs to be done, and deliver on it.
Qualification preferences:
5+ years of experience in business analytics and reporting
Undergraduate or masters in data analytics, computer science, business management or associated field BI bootcamps/certifications relevant to the role
