This role is part of our Above Water Systems (AWS) team, which designs and engineers naval and commercial ships, while also providing in-service support capabilities.

 

Responsible for the growth of the Navy Capability sector across the Australia and New Zealand, developing the successful global capability portfolio into the region to lift the capability edge of our customers, through partnerships, development and service.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and securing capture opportunities through prospecting, qualifying, managing and closing sales opportunities in new and existing accounts

  • Acquire and share market intelligence and understand competitor trends and changed market conditions

  • Identifying and development potential strategic alliances and partnerships for the Thales portfolio

  • Managing reporting of sales opportunities and governance process

  • Working within a highly matrixed organisation to contribute to sales strategy and planning to meet future market needs

  • Stewardship of reference-able clients, facilitating reference contacts, tracking of references used

  • Support the business in its market presence as a thought leader through all available forums and institutes

  • Support the development of the communications and marketing plans as required to support the business strategic goals.

How About you?

  • Experience in a business development environment within the maritime industry or navy

  • Understanding of large-scale programs

  • In-depth understanding of maritime market dynamics, including key players, trends, and challenges

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and guide teams in large Matrix-style organisations

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities

  • Flexibility to travel

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Defence Clearance
