JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Perform detailed market analysis and research in the Spanish market
  • Navigate the UL matrix organization and work with the local leadership teams from SPI, COUs, G&SA account owners, regional marketing representatives etc.
  • Take ownership of building the local Go-To-Market plan
  • Support Regional Leadership in the development of sub-regional growth plans, long-range plans and strategies by providing input, gathering market insights and assisting in the planning process
  • Develops and coordinates executive presentations and de-briefings
  • Focuses on customer satisfaction (NPS), market growth and expansion of services provided
  • Respond effectively to urgent and sensitive customer issues
  • Read and follow the UL Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
  • Performs other duties as directed


RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Conduct in-depth market research for the Spanish market (Competition, market size, unmet market needs, voice of the customer, target customers, personas, etc.)
  2. Identify tangible growth opportunities (both OPEX and CAPEX) in Spain within our focused growth trends (e.g. Energy Transition, New Mobility, ESG and Sustainability), strategies (Alpha Strategy, EMEA Strategy, Long Range Plans) and businesses
    1. Align and prioritize potential growth initiatives with local leaders from SPI-Teams, COU and other local stakeholders
    2. Execute prioritized growth initiatives and drive PoC revenue growth and increase market share for UL in Spain
    3. Provide regular and timely updates on progress and results against objectives + goals to stakeholders
  3. Identify potential M&A opportunities within our prioritized growth segments and in close alignment with Regional Leadership:
    1. Analyze and assess potential targets
    2. Align and prioritize potential targets with local SPI teams and Regional Leadership
    3. Support target outreach on agreed upon targets
  4. Identify and develop strong relationship with key industry organizations
  5. Cultivate customer relationships with both existing and new customers - in close collaboration with the local Sales and G&SA organizations - to actively gather customer insights, emerging trends and needs
  6. Provide ongoing market feedback and key insights to stakeholders


QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor's degree) in Business Administration, Marketing or a related disciplines plus experience in business development role or several years of work experience in commercially oriented roles, including marketing, business development, sales, or strategy.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Strong financial acumen and data driven approach towards decision making
  • Intellectual curiosity coupled with a strong drive towards execution
  • Self-starter and comfortable working with ambiguity
  • Ability to work independently and within a team as well as gain alignment across our matrix organization.
  • Fluency in Spanish (native proficiency) and English (advanced proficiency) are required.
  • Portuguese and / or Italian as well as French are a plus
