Job Summary:

Oversees a team providing actionable business analytics to the organization used to make informed business decisions supporting strategic initiatives and driving increased revenue, profit and market share. Conducts industry research, analyzes external market data and identifies emerging business trends to support the competitive intelligence needs of the company and its operating groups. Utilizes data to evaluate the organization’s competitive position within industry.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manages competitive analytics from multiple sources, including the identification and management of new and existing sources.
  • Manages market research projects and ad-hoc analyses to provide ongoing strategic and tactical guidance to strategy and executive teams.
  • Provides recommendations for research approaches and solutions that will address business needs.
  • Participates in strategic planning sessions across the company with relevant insight to drive short and long term strategy goals.
  • Identifies and evaluates potential external market opportunities, assesses competitor activity, and makes recommendations to leadership. Informs the organization of emerging marketplace and trends, including possible target markets, competitor news, and innovative solutions.
  • Process optimization of business analytic activities to maximize ROI of efforts and improve cost to serve.
  • Manages the development of process analyses, designs and simulations; requiring a solid understanding of the organization's business operations and industry and possesses strong analytical skills.
  • Provides statistical information and proposals to sr. leadership to ensure the most effective utilization of personnel, equipment and materials.
  • Oversees the development of reports and other tools to deliver internal company information enabling business users to make informed decisions.
  • Organizes research and analytical results into concise presentations, narratives and consultative opinions to be presented and/or utilized by senior executives.
  • Promotes the use of analytical tools and methods in the business decision making process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Level Specifications:

  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business or technical support teams comprised of individual contributors. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. May coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
  • Directs routine and repetitive operations of team.
  • Assignments are largely established in accordance with schedules and deliverables. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans.
  • Collaborates daily with direct reports and peers within similar functions primarily for the purpose of exchanging information.
  • Decisions have a direct impact on team operations. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and require the allocation of additional time, people and/or financial resources.

Work Experience:

  • Typically 4+ years relevant work experience

Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

  • Meetings with external and internal work teams to obtain information.
  • Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics
