SMX is seeking a Business Analyst to join our State and Local team. The Business Analyst will translate business needs into technical objectives by gathering user requirements, developing recommendations for implementation, and identifying solutions to satisfy the business need. Successful candidates will have experience reporting project status to management including risks, issues, and key decisions. You will understand the overall direction and nuanced user needs clearly, and you will work to communicate business needs across various stakeholders. This role will participate in testing and other application support activities, as well, and will work closely with clients and project teams. This is a remote position supporting clients primarily in the Eastern Time zone.
Required Skills & Experience
• Understand business processes and interpret them to define requirements, analyze current as-is processes and conceptualize to-be requirements.
• Support the development of detailed stakeholder reports, user requirements, user stories, and test plans, test scenarios and test cases.
• Support solution developers and business subject matter experts with documentation of functional and technical processes and system workflows using Lucid.
• Develop detailed process maps and business process procedure documentation.
• Develop system training plans and catalogs; conduct training sessions with customers.
• Analyze data and draw conclusions from the data as it relates to business processes, stakeholders, and system users.
• Develop Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word documentation.
• Work with subject matter experts to define performance measures and collection methodology.
• Support project management activity including metric analysis, process analysis, system analysis, measuring success, and stakeholder and leadership reporting.
• Support project management tooling activities such as building project plans in Jira and Jira Advanced Roadmap.
Desired Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

The proposed salary for this position is:
$115,700—$192,900 USD
