The Business Analysis Expert can be technology generalists or specialists, providing an array of services such as business process improvement, priority-setting facilitation, project definition or design, and broker IT and contract services. The candidate should have 7+ years of experience in IT, business process design, or relevant consulting roles with proven success of project implementations.  Complex problem solving and decision-making skills are required. Have extensive knowledge of the assigned business area's products and processes.  Having experience in the strategic use of technology in managing and growing a business and extensive experience in business process re-engineering utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change is also required. In addition, they will have strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to our business users.

Considered a member of a team focused on delivering business goals by following structured processes and procedures to deliver results. Share responsibility within team to ensure on-time product delivery, which requires a clear understanding of expectations and capabilities as well as the ability to act effectively as a team member. Demonstrate the ability to effectively provide direction on complex scenarios that lead to process change.  They directly influence the portfolio planning priorities and outcomes. Frequently demonstrated strong coaching skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and direct others on global process within and outside areas of immediate expertise. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management

  • Excellent knowledge of PPG’s products and processes

  • Understanding of the existing IT non-ERP solutions used by multiple PPG businesses

  • Extensive experience in the strategic use of technology in managing and growing a business

  • Understanding of how IT impacts an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes

  • In-depth experience in helping businesses to focus and articulate a future business vision in terms of redesigned business processes and related business requirements

  • Previous experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement is required, involving broad based information systems and utilizing tools and techniques to affect business change

  • Detailed knowledge of applications & technology directions and their capability to contribute to solving business problems

  • Experienced in project management methodologies and practices and execution of large enterprise projects 

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; a demonstrated track record in new concept development for various business solution architectures, migration strategies, and projects

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing such as White Papers or training material

  • Ability to be comfortable in a nonhierarchical, flat organization and, if required, operate under a dual reporting relationship; ability to thrive in an unstructured hands-on environment that demands a consultative approach

  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to learn quickly to develop effective working relationships across a diverse team of functional, technical, and senior business partners

  • Assume some leadership of a functional team within a large implementation project providing coaching to more junior members of the team

Qualifications

  • A degree or higher in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience 

  • 7+ years of IT, business process engineering, project management, or a related discipline experience

  • Experience with ERP systems is desired but not required.  Knowledge of SAP system is highly beneficial

  • Ability to interact with and lead both technical (IT) team members and business team members to achieve project success. 

  • Strong understanding of business process mapping and design is required. 

  • Strong Analytical and conceptual skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing

  • Ability to collaborate within a global team & positive team spirit

  • Must be comfortable working remotely using primarily virtual means of collaborating with colleagues and managers

  • Must be able to work without close supervision

  • Fluent communication in Chinese and English

  • Highly motivated with a commitment to delivering high quality work in a dynamic fast paced environment

  • Possess the ability and desire to foster the development of junior team members
