Hybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford Proving Grounds in Milford, MI three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role :
We are looking for a Brake Controls Software Integration Engineer to join the VMEC Inhouse brake controls software deployment team. The Brake Controls Software Integration Engineer is a technical project position where you will be responsible to plan, lead, and execute software content and timing for brake control software releases. In addition, you will lead the brake controls software up-integration Software Execution Team Meeting (SWET), and you will be a key participant in the EV/AV SWET. You and key stakeholders will ensure software components, builds, and validation are delivered on-time with quality.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development of software content and timing for assigned releases for EV vehicles, truck and SUV platforms.
- Document the information in software delivery plan and communicate those plans to internal and external organizations.
- Lead project specific software verification and validation plan and document the information in software Analysis, Development and Validation (ADV) plan.
- Provide direction and set priorities for software builds, testing, and validation.
- Actively manage controller resources at each software release; escalate and engage SMEs for resolution as required.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Engineering or Computer Science
- 2+ years experience in real-time embedded software system development.
- Technical project lead or project management experience.
- Demonstrated drive for results and teamwork in project execution.
- Analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Direct hands-on experience in developing real-time controls software.
- Understanding of operating systems and instrumentation for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with configuration management systems and build tools, such as, GiT, Jira, & Jenkins.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
