What will you do?

· Work directly with clients without the additional BiX reviews

· Receive and process requirements directly from clients (completely independently)

· Propose different solutions to the client and trade-offs associated with each

· Understand constraints and assumptions under which it works for

· Develop novel solutions for the specific client-based use case

· Work on project planning and writing client facing documentation independently

· Guide and review project plan and client facing documentation for other colleagues

· Break down projects and delegate into separate tasks efficiently

· Mentor colleagues

· Present materials at seminars and assists in department level strategic planning

· Identify new opportunities for development

· Work with engineering/product teams and guide them through client’s use-case

· Communicate and enforce best practices among team-members during project implementation

· Provide consultation and technical solutions to cross functional bioinformatics projects

· Lead in the complete flow of the project - from pre-sales to SOW to the implementation phase

· Speak externally, engage with future customers/collaborators and demonstrate values Velsera brings to their clients

· Drive or helps others to drive novel R&D projects and find innovative solutions

· Provide consulting, review and advice to the teams working on cutting-edge projects

· Adapt quickly and take projects with short notice and deliver at a high level

· Design, develop and maintain various Bioinformatics analysis pipelines and solutions for analyzing and managing clinical NGS data

· Collaborate with software engineers, contribute to product development by building and maintaining computational infrastructure for robust, cost-effective, and automated execution of bioinformatics solutions in the cloud

What do you bring to the table?

· Education requirements:

• BSc with minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
• MSc with minimum 4 years of relevant industry experience
• PhD with minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience

· 2+ years of experience as performing responsible bioinformatician role on projects

· Experience in documenting bioinformatics finding or development in a scientific manner (able to write scientific papers or adopt a similar approach)

· Strong experience in specific bioinformatics domains (single-cell, spatial transcriptomics, clinical, oncogenomics, rna-seq)

· Basic statistical knowledge (comparison, data analysis)

· Advanced knowledge of programming and good programming practices

· Strong and proved scientific background

· Strong technical and software development experience

· Strong communication, data presentation and visualization skills

· Personal initiative and ability to work effectively with in a cross functional team

· Good communication skills (internal and external) - able to align different parties, communicate needs and requirements and sort-out differences

· Great domain knowledge and able to understand clients use case and provide fitting solutions
