Job Summary
The Billing Systems Analyst reports to the Director of Billing Systems and supports property managers on nearly all aspects of utility management, reimbursement/billing programs, and vacant recovery programs.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides support, troubleshooting, customer service and evaluations for all utility programs.
- Contacts property management regularly to verify information and ensure its accuracy in reports and to properly support each of the programs and their success.
- Creates reports weekly, monthly and ad hoc for utility programs to help produce optimum results.
- Monitors and reports on utility rates, variances and usage trends as compared to utility budget.
- Manages all residential utility bills on a monthly basis.
- Monitors the performance of utility expenses and utility reimbursement/billing programs for all properties by creating, monitoring, and distributing all utility reports.
- Analyzes issues on a daily and weekly basis to gauge their status and determine where corrections are needed; discovers opportunities within utility programs that may require further evaluation to improve performance.
- Evaluates and suggests changes in accounts payable data and billing processes for utilities.
- Performs high-level calculations, trend analysis, and quality control on all utility programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of experience in IT, business or customer service and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field are required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the property management industry, billing systems, and/or water submeters (e.g., Inovonics, Aclara/Hexagram, Next Century) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of billing, utilities, and/or related systems
- Critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Work, Excel, Outlook)
- Skill in communicating clearly and concisely verbally and in writing
- Customer services skills
- Mathematical aptitude and attention to detail
- Skill in managing projects, organization, prioritization, and meeting deadlines

- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
