About the role

The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detailed, motivated, and ambitious individual who is looking for an opportunity to join a rapidly expanding software company that is dedicated to being an industry leader.  The Billing Specialist will be responsible for all billing functions and will report directly to the Billing Lead. 

What you’ll do as a Billing Specialist

  • Manage customer accounts, send invoices, collect payments, and update accounts to reflect changes 
  • Cross departmental collaboration to determine customer software usage and billing amounts 
  • Answer customer inquiries about billings and resolve any errors 
  • Handle billing complaints and discrepancies, issue credit memos when necessary 
  • Maintain new and existing customer contracts and related record keeping 
  • Escalate customer issues to the Billing Lead

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • 2-4 years of experience in billing is required 
  • Knowledge of billing specialist responsibilities, billing systems and procedures 
  • Expert level in MS Office 
  • Experience with SaaS or other subscription-based billing preferred
  • Ability to deal with customers directly  
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work 
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills 

Nice to haves

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment 
  • Willingness to work hard, take direction, and anticipate problems and their solutions without explicit guidance 
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements 
  • NetSuite experience is preferred 
  • Experience working with a distributed/remote team
  • Previous experience with Maxio(SaaSOptices) billing software is a plus
