Billing Accountant
This position is assigned to one or more areas of the Finance department and works closely with numerous other areas within the Finance department such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Financial Reporting, Financial Planning, Payroll, Purchasing, and Revenue Management. This position will also interact frequently with Management for the various business lines to which it is assigned and will take primary responsibility for assigned revenue streams and/or vendor or customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of complex customer invoices, including intricate billing rules,
- tiered pricing structures, and special contract terms, ensuring compliance with company policies and SOX
- regulations.
- Perform in-depth analysis of billing data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement,
- generating detailed reports for management review and decision-making
- Thoroughly interpret customer contracts to accurately apply billing terms, including service level
- agreements, usage fees, and billing adjustments
- Analyze and validate billing, operational, & customer data for completeness and accuracy
- Reconciling weekly and monthly customer account statements
- Following up with customers in relation to overdue balances
- Work closely with account management team to ensure accuracy and resolve customer billing issues
- Accurate and timely responses to requests from internal customers including accounting, sales, customer
- success, and senior management
- Participate in improving internal controls, policies, procedures, and process documentation
- Ad hoc projects as they arise
What we are looking for…..
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and troubleshoot intricate billing
- issues and present financial information to various internal stakeholders
- 2-5 years of accounting experience
- Solid understanding of general revenue accounting principles.
- Previous experience in healthcare tech and/or start-up environment is helpful
- Strong communication skills in partnering with other internal groups and management
- Experience and competence in using integrated ERP software (SAP preferably)
- Strong Microsoft Office (Intermediate to advance Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Gmail,
- Gsheet, and GDrive)
- Self-Motivated & detail oriented with the ability to work independently under general
- supervision
- Ability to prioritize actions and manage multiple deadlines and tight quarter end deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
This is a hybrid position within Atlanta, Georgia.
