About the Role:
Supporting company accounting processes and procedures, including receivables, payables, account reconciliations, assist with month-end financial close procedures, and build relationships with the other departments. This role is full-time.
What you'll do:
- Oversee Accounts Payable activities, including ensuring all invoices, check requests, expenses and bills have been properly coded and approved, and backup detail is supplied to support charges
- Review and process expense reports in Concur and ensure adherence to the stated travel policy and procedures
- Ensure all contractor tax info is on file, and process and send 1099s
- Manage payment runs through Melio and Concur
- Reconcile vendor and customer accounts, and resolve discrepancies
- Oversee Accounts Receivable activities, including customer invoice preparation, customer payment application and liaising with the account managers on collections
- Maintain fixed asset ledger and depreciation schedules
- Perform month-end close tasks including preparing journal entries, accruals, account reviews and balance sheet account reconciliations, and identifying and investigating discrepancies
- Support financial reporting and review, year-end audit, and tax return preparation
- Make suggestions for improving accounting processes and procedures to ensure the safeguarding of company assets
- Perform other data entry functions into various databases and sub-systems
- Research and resolve questions related to general ledger items
- Create and document accounting processes, workflows and procedures, as needed
- Other ad hoc projects as assigned
What we'll love about you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 2+ years of related professional experience
- Knowledge of standard accounting and bookkeeping principles and best practices
- QuickBooks Online proficiency
- Significant experience with office productivity applications, with a strong aptitude for learning new systems and approaches
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities at the same time, whether working independently or as part of a team
- Experience in an agency or professional services environment
- The ability to see problems through a new lens and bring proactive solutions to age-old problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
