What you will be doing

We have created a new role in Canberra for an enthusiastic Bid Manager who can provide leadership and guidance to the bid team / key stakeholders throughout the pursuit lifecycle and is responsible for all aspects of the pursuit process.

The successful candidate will perform an active role in the definition, communication and execution of the deal strategy and client engagement plan. They will also have a detailed knowledge of pursuit management technique, tools and best practices.

Job functions include;

Pursuit Management

· Leads all day-to-day aspects of an individual bid and is accountable for the end-to-end quality of the deal

· Works at the strategic level to provide direction and maintain perspective across the entire bid/capture process

· Accountable for bid planning, applying best practices, managing critical path and resource needs, B&P budget and deal orchestration

Client Engagement (where appropriate)

· Establishes working relationships with clients, participate in client meetings, workshops and presentations

· Participates in commercial meetings with the client, their advisors and partners (sub-contractors)

Deal Qualification and Strategy Development (where appropriate)

· Works with the pursuit and sales team to facilitate deal shaping activities

The skills you will bring

◾ Extensive experience, and an outstanding record of achievement, in leading the development of opportunity management in a complex ICT services or government environments

◾ Strong experience with developing customer proposals, business cases and financial and economic appraisals for business cases

◾ Proven track record in producing, communicating and documenting successful technical customer solutions proposals

◾ Experience handling complex sales deals, to include negotiations and closing

◾ Strong communication and relationship building skills with a range of stakeholders

◾ Exceptional problem resolution skills

◾ A flexible team player and able to work autonomously

◾ Sound problem solving skills, with an ability to "think outside the box".

◾ An ability to prioritise work requirements and work towards tight deadlines

◾ Ideally have NV1 Clearance

Please note: You must either hold an Australian Security Clearance, or be eligible to obtain one; therefore candidates will need to be Australian Citizens
