Job Description
We deal with complex customer bids on daily basis. To achieve quality results, we often need to create matches between customer requirements and our resources and capabilities.
The Bid Coordinator – Ocean Services is tasked with identifying, engaging, and organizing the right participants and the right information before, during, and after a bid is launched with the aims of improving our response time and value proposition.
Rates Repository
Maintain a Centralized Rates Repository for:
- Locally and Regionally Negotiated Buy Tariffs and Special Rates.
- Locally and Regionally Quoted Sell Tariffs and Special Rates for Won Opportunities.
- Locally and Regionally Collected Feedback on Quoted Sell Tariffs and Special Rates for In-Progress and Lost Opportunities.
- Local Origin and Destination Buy/Sell Charges including, but not limited to, Pre/Post-Carriage, PU/DO, D&D, THCs, Documentation, Customs, etc.
Ongoing Engagement
- Maintain a list of target accounts and their bids for the coming 3-, 6-, 9-, and 12-months periods.
- Support Ocean Managers in Bid Preparation based on their Ongoing Engagement with Account Owners and Customers.
- Support joint Product-Sales/AM discussions with overseas counterparts for every lane of interest.
- Support Post-Mortem Analyses and Prepare for the next RFQ.
Bid Management – Network Accounts
- Receive formal RFQ Pricing Package from Regional Pricing.
- Collect, Consolidate, and Submit Responses for each RFQ Round.
Bid Management – Local Accounts
- Prepare for upcoming RFQs with Ocean Managers.
- Receive formal RFQ from Account Owner/Customer.
- Discuss requirements/strategy with Ocean Managers.
- Convert RFQ to internal format, if needed.
- Launch formal RFQ Pricing Package to the Network.
- Collect, Consolidate, and Submit Responses for each RFQ Round.
Analysis
- Drive Lane Profitability and Cost Optimization Studies.
- Compare Service Provider Resources, Capabilities, and Service Offerings.
- Generate and Analyze Volume and Routing Dashboards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess several (not necessarily all) of the following:
Knowledge and Experience
- Degree in Business, Economics, Transportation and Logistics, Business Information and Decision Systems, or Industrial Engineering
- Previous Experience of Ocean Import, Ocean Export, and Ocean Forwarding or similar Transportation Product

Additional Information
This position can be based in any of our branches in France with a preference for Le Havre, Paris or Lyon.
