Business Intelligence and Internal Controls Manager

Newcastle/ London (Hybrid onsite 3 days per week)

We are offering the opportunity for an experienced Business Intelligence and Internal Controls Manager to join the business at a time of great growth.

Reporting to the Business Intelligence and Internal Control Cluster Director, with a strong dotted line to the CFO, you will be responsible for developing the use of Data for all the business teams and liaising with the Data engineering teams to define all the requirements for Data products. 

With a keen awareness of financial risk and a good understanding of IT architectures, you will develop the internal control, revenue assurance and compliance strategy. 

Key responsibilities

• Deploying a Data culture for ‘Value creation - Speak with Data’  
• Assisting business units to improve their performance through easy, agile access to data (their own & cross-functional), Managed BI Self-Service 
• Sharing the possibilities/benefits of using data for business decision-making 
• Creating and developing the governance of Data products 
• Steering the needs and managing the projects and developments of the DATA Roadmap 
• Create data products for new raw data sources 
• Implementing all the internal control processes defined by the Group 
• Maintain and enhance continuous improvement processes with operational teams 
• Develop new control scenarios to guarantee a level of excellence 
• Define the revenue assurance strategy and develop risk controls to be implemented 
• Identifying and quantifying the impact of major incidents and validating corrective measures 
• Add value to identified revenue gains and losses and keep the risk map up to date 
• Developing and adapting the Compliance strategy to changing situations 

Key requirements

• Significant experience gained within an Internal Controls/ Senior Data Analyst or a similar leadership position 
• Experience leading and coaching a team
• Astute understanding of data mining and internal controls
• Excellent command of SQL and Python
• Able to communicate benefits of great data control and risk management with cross functional teams for real business impact.
• Ability to create internal controls and data processes
• Confident and astute leader and communicator
