Skills & Responsibilities

  • Champion and administer a comprehensive portfolio of employee benefits, including:

    • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans

    • 401(k) retirement plan

    • Savings and spending accounts (HSAs, FSAs)

    • COBRA administration

  • Proactively manage our self-insured medical plan. This involves in-depth analysis of claims data with our broker and medical carrier, identifying cost drivers, and developing and implementing innovative strategies to optimize plan performance, control costs, and ensure employee access to high-quality, affordable healthcare.

  • Partner with key stakeholders (Legal, Payroll, Accounting, outside counsel, investment advisor, and recordkeeper) to effectively administer our 401(k) plan. This includes ensuring plan compliance, conducting non-discrimination testing, resolving plan corrections, supporting the annual audit, supporting the 401(k) Committee, and driving initiatives that enhance employee financial wellbeing.

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including our third-party leave administrator, Employee Relations, Legal, People Partners, Payroll, and People Ops, to effectively manage all aspects of leaves and accommodations, ensuring a seamless, accurate, and compliant experience under FMLA, ADA, and other qualifying absences.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local benefits laws and regulations. Collaborate closely with advisors and vendors to provide timely and accurate submission of all required filings and notices.

  • Drive operational excellence by partnering with our People Systems team to optimize the Workday benefits module. These enhancements will streamline processes, improve the employee self-service experience, and reduce manual data entry and reconciliation.

  • Provide expert guidance and support to employees on all aspects of their benefits. This includes resolving complex inquiries, collaborating effectively with vendors and internal teams, and ensuring a seamless employee experience.

  • Actively participate in vendor utilization reviews vendor RFPs, and lead or support ad-hoc benefits projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in full-cycle benefits administration, including:

    • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans

    • Management of a self-insured medical plan

    • Retirement plans (401k)

    • Savings/spending accounts (HSAs, FSAs)

    • COBRA administration

    • Leave of absence (FMLA, STD, LTD)

    • Employee accommodations (ADA)

    • Time off (vacation, sick leave)

  • Workday proficiency.  

  • Deep knowledge of the US benefits landscape, including federal and state regulations.

  • Committed to a high degree of integrity and confidentiality with sensitive employee information.

  • Adapts effectively and delivers results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Data-driven approach to problem-solving with the ability to analyze data and translate insights.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize and deliver results.

  • Drives impactful outcomes and delivers on commitments through a results-oriented approach.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex information.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace collaboration and project management tools is a plus.

  • Experience administering benefits within the Workday benefits and absence modules is a plus.

  • Experience with administering 401k benefits within Fidelity Plan Sponsor WebStation is a plus.

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for benefits and equity.
