As the Mechanical Integration Engineering, you will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and maintain the design of battery module and pack mechanical/structural components working and guiding design engineering and suppliers
- Lead design efforts for GD&T
- Provide guidance, boundary conditions, and analyze structural CAE
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing team to apply design for manufacturing and design for assembly best practices
- Work with suppliers to meet design requirements, component timing, and achieve cost targets
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis to solve development and testing issues
- Support Procurement team in component sourcing activities
- Manage supplier DFMEA/PMEA development
- Support component change management process
- Support design reviews and program milestone presentations
- Support cost and performance optimization in component design
- Collaborate with internal and external team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks
- Domestic and international travel as needed up to 30% to business sites to assist with component related issues, testing, and qualification.
- Previous experience in the release of high voltage battery module components in energy storage or automotive applications preferred.
What you will bring to Fluence:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- 4+ years’ experience in battery module and pack engineering, preferably designing module components
- Experience building and using thermal/mechanical analytical models
- Highly tuned drive to win and deliver excellence under tight timelines
- Desire to work collaboratively in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience managing components developed by third party suppliers.
- Proficient in ASME Y14.5-2018 GD&T with the ability to perform dimensional stack ups independently
