Overview
Due to SRAM's advancing presence in the E-Bike market, we are looking for a Battery Compliance Engineer at one of our offices in Germany to support us with the ongoing and newly emerging tasks and challenges.
Responsibilities

  • Manage battery and battery charger projects internally and with 3rd party test houses and certification agencies to ensure product conformance is achieved and maintained within product release timelines
  • Generation of documentation required to satisfy battery projects certification by collaborating with design team, test engineers and suppliers
  • Create and integrate compliance programs and ensure their success
  • Own, estimate, and track progress for tasks through all stages of a battery project to meet desired performance, cost and time-to-market goals
  • Provide guidance and educate team members on battery certification requirements and applicable legislations
  • Review and analyze technical drawings, schematics, and requirements
  • Contribute to compliance planning and identifying budget and resource requirements
  • Ensure that product requirements, design inputs and design specifications accurately reflect industry and regulatory compliance requirements at the appropriate level of detail
  • Participate in specification and design reviews to ensure designs will meet necessary certification requirements
  • Create, maintain, and perform continuous improvement to certification plans for integration with product development processes with consideration of budget and resources


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related technical experience
  • 3 years working experience, preferably including experience working with third party agencies for certification and audit of products
  • Thorough working knowledge of regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to UL, FCC, CE, ISO, CB Scheme, WEEE, etc.
  • Understanding of battery standards - IEC62133-2, EN50604, UL2271, UL2580
  • Understanding of battery charger standards - EN/IEC60335-2-29, IEC60368-1
  • Solid understanding of functional safety principles, standards, and requirements is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems independently and manage multiple projects and tasks
